Meet other local Paddlers to plan trips and meetups, talk about local rivers, creeks, and kayak gear. We are mostly beginner and intermediate paddlers, but all levels and ages welcome! Trips we have gone on so far have been leisurely paddles on calm waters exploring lakes, creeks and slow moving rivers. There is no membership fee, nor is there a charge to attend events. This group was started because several Meetup members have expressed an interest in kayaking and canoeing. We all know it's always more fun and safer to go paddling with others. The purpose of this group is to provide a group of fellow paddlers with whom to go kayaking and canoeing. A large group of people will provide a wide variety of experiences from which we can all enhance our abilities. This group is open to anyone, not just Sierra Club members. There is no charge for trips, other than permit fees (when required). The Miami Group is the local chapter of Sierra Club for Southwest Ohio. Miami Group has a long history of leading various types of outings: Paddling, Hiking, Biking, Backpacking, Camping and Service Outings. All outings are led by leaders who have been certified to meet local and national Sierra Club standards.

This group is all about growing the community of those who love to stand up paddle! Will organize trips to explore our local water ways for those that are ready to paddle. We will also try to provide occasional SUP demos for those that do not have boards. Whether you're a SUP veteran, or would like to try SUP for your first time, this is the group is for you.
